Super Easy DIY Silhouette
I am always looking for little DIY projects to make my house a home. I love art work that actually has meaning behind it. So my latest project I came across via pinterest which lead me to The Mama Dramalogues. The Mama Dramalogues is an adorable little blog run by a group of Mommies. They share many adorable ideas you should totally stop by and check them out. Any Who I love the super simple silhouette how to brought to us by Holly. I completed this little project today in less than 30 minutes, and I loved how these turned out of my 3 sons. I love these little framed keepsakes of my children's childhood! Super cute and super easy. For directions on how to make your own click HERE!

40 Chores in 40 Days (Day # 2)
40 Chores in 40 Days
Day # 2
Okay, the grand total of large filled trash bags after day one and two is now three! OH MY! I couldn't believe how much junk can hide in the little nooks and crannies of a home. I mean, I was well aware of the fact I am a terrible housekeeper, but that is just ridiculous. It feels good to be purging so much. I have taken the policy that if we haven't used in the past year it's time to donate it or toss it, unless it's a book, they're my one guilty pleasure that I refuse to toss. I have issues with getting rid of books, but that's a whole different blog. So, I have tossed most of what was residing in the art cabinet and now everything has a nice cozy home. Well only 38 more days to go....I am exhausted thinking about it! However it's going to be nice to simplify!
Someday I will just make a book of my favorite recipes, but for now it's just good to have them all nice and neat in one place.
I plan on painting the lids and labeling the jars, but for today it was about getting organized..first and foremost. I would love to hear organizing tips that help you keep your household running smoothly and specifically any tricks of the trade for organizing art supplies in a decorative fun manner?

Tuesday Treasury
This week's Tuesday Treasury is inspired by a book by Shel Silverstein, and one of my childhood favorites at that, The Giving Tree. So in this week's treasury, in which I call "Once There Was A Tree....", I have included all kinds of tree inspired goodies from the impressive and talented vendors from Etsy. Now, I will leave you with a excerpt from the book and a link to the full treasury list.Click HERE for full list.
Once there was a tree..... and she loved a little boy. And every day the boy would come and he would gather her leaves and make them into crowns and play king of the forest. He would climb up her trunk and swing from her branches and eat apples. And they would play hide-and-go-seek. And when he was tired, he would sleep in her shade. And the boy loved the tree.......very much. And the tree was happy. -Shel Silverstein

Tuesday Treasury
So I have created a theme for Tuesday's here on Inside My Head. Tuesday Treasury will become a mainstay starting this week! That is, if my crazy busy life with three boys allows me to keep up. So, what is Tuesday Treasury? Tuesday Treasury is a list I have personally compiled from Etsy.com with a given theme of my choosing for the week. Knowing me, I will be drawing much of my inspiriation from my favorite fairytales, books, music, and life experiences. I hope you all will visit me every Tuesday to see what inspired me this week and check out all the talented artists, collectors, crafters, and various Etsy venders that are featured each week by following the links to the treasury. I also hope you will leave me a little note telling me what inspires you. You never know, you may be my next inspiration!
I hope you enjoy this Tuesday's first Treasury list inspired by one of my all time favorite stories by C.S. Lewis, The Lion the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and named Journey Through The Wardrobe.

Sunday Snippet{Happy Easter}

Cooper suffers from three year old mood swings and was devastated that we finished all the eggs, but in true mood swing fashion he was smiling in .4 seconds! |
Amongst all the fun and Easter celebrations may we all take the time to truly remember why we celebrate this Holiday! "He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay." Matthew 28:6. Christ love is precisely something worth celebrating! I am humbled, and thankful for his grace, truth, joy, and love that He has shown me. Wishing everyone blessed and Happy Easter this beautiful Sunday!
Couple of My Favorite Easter Quotes:
"The joyful news that He is risen does not change the contemporary world. Still before us lie work, discipline, sacrifice. But the fact of Easter gives us the spiritual power to do the work, accept the discipline, and make the sacrifice." ~Henry Knox Sherrill
"Let the resurrection joy lift us from loneliness and weakness and despair to strength and beauty and happiness." ~Floyd W. Tomkins
"Easter says you can put truth in a grave, but it won't stay there." ~Clarence W. Hall

Photography, Paper, Picturesque
I just could not resist spotlighting the latest creative creation by Kelli Trontell{photography} and ButterflyspArks. These beautiful young entrepreneurs are creative geniuses on their own, but when you place these two girls together, magic happens. It’s incredible, fun, simple, beautiful…it’s art! Combine ButterflyspArks' extraordinary talent for creating visually stunning graphic design pieces and Kelli Trontell{photography} unique ability to capture precious details through her camera lens and just prepare yourself to be inspired. Distinctive characters from both the ladies' creative minds creates an entanglement perfect for developing personalized memories, better known as photographs. Their latest collaboration took place shortly before both of the ladies moved away from Nashville, TN and involved drawing inspiration from a couple key ingredients their love of children and their passion to create and inspire. These ladies dreamed up a photo shoot backdrop where kids can be kids. Their goal was to inspire mom’s who run out of creative ways to photograph their children. The girls came up with fun paper cutouts: paper cheeks, mustaches, music notes, and so much more, which transformed the simple but bold backdrops into a world of imagination and for the kiddos resulting in fun and cleverly designed photographs. Every photo is overflowing with adventure and giggling children! Kelli Trontell{photography} and ButterflyspArks“Playing with Paper” is simply a brilliant use of imagination developing a fun and easy way to photograph your favorite little ones. Hope you feel as inspired as I did!Speical Note: this article also appear at Cookevilletimes.com

The Love of Music
Watching my oldest son’s passion for music leaves me simply amazed. He is certainly following in the footsteps of his father and his young talent is awe-inspiring. His love for the art of music and his ability to absorb melodies comes to him as naturally as breathing. At a very young age, he realized that the ABC song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star were the same melody. While most children are marveling with superheroes or fascinated with the newest toy fads, my eight year old son collecting Beatles songs to add to his musical library.During a shopping trip with the family he navigates himself to the CD section, while most children are screaming for the toy aisles. His Christmas list consists of guitars, concert tickets and itunes cards. His love for music is something very special indeed. It’s a unique gift that I believe is passed down through the generations, tightly sewn into this family tree like a woven tapestry of music fibers flowing though their very core. To my oldest son music is a way of life. It’s just not an option to go through the day without it. It feels like such an honor to be a witness to the growing talent within my young son. From his very first talent show as a first grader, to whatever adventure this love for music leads him on, I find this talent of his such a beautiful blessing upon this family. I don’t think my heart will ever get tired of hearing him lift his voice in song to share with others. He is truly a very special little boy in my eyes !Thursday, September 2, 2010
The Art of Capturing Memories
Photography: the process of producing images of objects on sensitized surfaces by chemical action of light or other forms of radiant energy. That is the standard and somewhat boring definition of photography. I would dare to be as bold as saying photography is more than just science. At least I would imagine that young freelance photographer Mrs.Delvon Stults would agree with me. Mrs. Stults has tinkered with cameras every since she could hold one and now she has owned and operated Modern Day Photography for over a year now. A business that is booming with a unique and creative force in the Upper Cumberland area.

Modern Day Photography serves mostly the Upper Cumberland area, but will travel outside the area if someone's heart is set on becoming a client. Photography, to Mrs. Stults, is an expression of one's very being captured on film. Whether it is an expression of love, a goofy moment, a specific look, or even just the emotions cast from the subject's body language, photography is about capturing raw and natural moments on film. It's like somewhat trapping time, turning moments into priceless heirlooms to be passed down through the generations. Modern Day Photography clients can expect honest, sincere services from this young, energetic, creative, artist behind the camera.
You can expect Mrs. Stults to listen to your ideas and incorporate them into original, extraordinary photographs. You have heard the saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words" and Modern Day Photography honestly believes that magic is captured in photographs. Mrs. Stults will cater to each unique customer with first class service, bringing her creative ideas, imaginative and expressive use of personalized accessories with her to each session. This results in a desirable piece of personal art captured through the lens of her camera.

Modern Day Photography finds inspiration all around her in clients, the world and in the uniqueness of each individual shot. Learning and growing, with each passing session, how to perfect the art form of photography about the people, for the people and bringing out the personalities of the people!

I think some of these pieces are wall hanging worthy! Be encouraged today to make your own piece of art today for a special Mom you know, even if that art is just a hand written note!
