Quotelicious

During my day today while I was feeding my obsession. See I have this little devotion to books, poems, short stories. I am one of those people who love to read when of course I can find the time with three children, and a husband to look after. When that occasion rises, and I find that something that captures my interest I don't just read it I devour it. I soak up every word of a good piece of written art despite my struggle with being mildly dyslexic. I have always loved it from the first moment I read "Little Women", "Black Beauty", "Annabelle Lee","The Giving Tree", and so many more of my first favorites. I love to get lost in good story, and then rattle on and on about them to anyone who will listen. A trait I am sure drives my husband up the wall at times. This leads us to the whole obsession thing. Discovering that I love to read so much lead to a hunger for quotes. I find the little sections, little bits, and pieces to be inspiring, funny, romantic, heartbreaking, spirited, and sometimes needed. Quotes keep the art alive long after it's been read, watched, or heard. All that being said today while feeding my hungry for quotes on the goodreads website just typing in random words. I came across a rather touching quote by Erma Bombeck that I added to my favorite quotes collection. Erma was and American housewife that became a beloved columnist, and novelist. I found this particular quote from her to be inspiring, and so true to life. In today's world we often get caught up in the to do list, the have to get that done, and I must go here. I think Erma was dropping us all a hint in this quote to stop, take a deep breathe, and remember who we are. Sometimes we all need to just slow down and take in the things that really matter before it's to late. So readers I challenge you this summer to slow down, and enjoy life, value the the people surrounding you, say I love you at least once a day. I leave you with the quote by Mrs. Erma Bombeck. May you all look to be inspired this week, this summer, this year, this life time! Peace, Love, Joy, and Adventures to you all...until we meet next time from inside my head ;)

"IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER"

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the "good" living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather rambling about his youth.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have burned the pink candle sculped like a rose before it melted
in storage.

I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television, and more
while watching life.

I would have gone to bed when I was sick, instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment, realising that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."

There would have been more "I love you's" and more "I'm sorry's"

. . . but mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute . . .
look at it and really see it . . . and never give it back."
— Erma Bombeck

I have always loved that piece, James. One of my favorites. Another favorite is "The Little Prince." It's a beautiful story all wrapped up in a children's book.

Love you!!
Morgan
